Michael graduated from high school in 2001 and attended Tennessee Tech University majoring in Agriculture.  During his time at Tennessee Tech, Michael grew more certain he wanted to run a farm once he graduated.  While at Tennessee Tech, Michael purchased his first heifer.  A pretty, Angus influence heifer, she became the foundation of the current cow herd. 

After graduating from Tennessee Tech, Michael convinced Bryan to join him in their agricultural pursuits.  In 2006, Cross Brothers Enterprises, LLC was formed and the journey began.  Michael's passion for agriculture and his love of the animals under his care forms the backbone of the operation.  He takes great care to ensure all the animals are healthy and happy.

Michael helps develop all the feed rations for our cattle and hogs.  He uses the forage tests as the basis for creating a well balanced ration.  Michael also takes the lead in determining forages used in our pastures and hay fields to ensure a quality product to our customers as well as for our animals. 

Michael is married to Amanda as well (#3).  Amanda is currently attending Roane State and will attend Lincoln Memorial University beginning in the Fall of 2012.  Amanda's goal is to become a nurse, which is a good thing for the rest of us on the farm!

Michael graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture.  His major concentration was in Animal Science. 

Michael attended classes in 2007 and received his Tennessee Master Beef Certification.  The Tennessee Master Beef program is designed to help producers raise a better product for consumers.  The program goes into detail about selecting the right animals, feeding programs, environmental concerns, and other aspects of raising beef cattle.

Michael is also Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certified.  BQA certification must be renewed every two years.  The BQA program teaches producers how to give vaccines and other medications using methods to limit damage to muscle tissue and limit animal discomfort.

Amanda obtained her Master Beef Certification in 2012.
